My name is Carrie Moskowitz.

I\u2019ve been working with dogs for close to 20 years and recently added llamas, sheep, and cats to the list of species I like teaching. \u00a0My college major was Psychology with an emphasis on \u00a020th century behavioral methodology (Remember B.F. Skinner from Psych 101?). \u00a0I \u2018discovered \u2018 clicker training about 15 years ago and never looked back. Same for positive reinforcement based training. \u00a0I have attended and participated in many training workshops over the years and continue to do this. This helps me to keep my knowledge and skills up to date. \u00a0

To me, dog training is all about effective communication with another species. \u00a0My ideas of fun: \u00a0Helping an out-of-control \u2018crazy\u2019 dog become a polite and cooperative family member; Helping a shy or fearful dog grow into a more confident and social companion.

I tailor my lessons to the levels of my clients (both canine and human). \u00a0Initially, we focus on learning basic foundation skills such as House-training, Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Drop, Leave It and polite leash walking. I love working with shy and fearful dogs. \u00a0

In addition to my private l<\/strong>essons, I volunteer at the Humane Society of Westchester and have been doing that for about 15 years. \u00a0I am one of the volunteer trainers at the shelter. I work with dogs, cats, other volunteers, and adopters. \u00a0I also volunteer weekly at the Farm and Wildlife Center of Green Chimneys school. \u00a0 I have been a member of The Association of Professional Dog Trainers since 2009. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
